The BuyIT Best Practice Network operates at three levels to achieve
its mission, to: "help organisations realise the business
benefits from Information & Communications Technology by identifying
and promoting best practice in e-business".
Identifying Best Practice
Thought leadership - we identify key issues in ICT and e-business,
facilitate dialogue and enable informed debate for members and non-members
across industry and the public sector.
Early adopter experience-sharing - the BuyIT Experience Sharing
Group encourages the sharing of practical experience and identification
of emerging best practice among members; this leads directly to
the guideline development process.
Promoting Best Practice
Guidelines Development - members collaborate to develop and
publish new guidelines and maintain currency of existing guidelines.
Publication - All BuyIT materials, including Guidelines,
articles and commentaries are published on the BuyIT website
Promotion:
Networking - A key element in the success of BuyIT. There
is a regular programme of networking events for members and invited
senior-level guests, and we run open events to provide visibility
and increase the group's influence.
Media Relations - BuyIT sources and places best practice
case studies, articles and press notices in trade media, membership
journals and newsletters of participating trade and professional
bodies. For example, the regular series in Computer Weekly magazine.
