Governance
The BuyIT Best Practice Network is a
programme of IT World Limited. Governance is vested in the Network members.
Each subscribing and co-opted member has a voice and proceedings are managed
by consensus.
Members
- Determine
programme priorities
- Participate
in a leading national best practice initiative
- Share
information on best practice with other members
- Provide
expert commentaries for Computer Weekly series
Members
meet annually to:
- Appoint
the Executive Board
- Set
up working Networks and appoint Chairmen
- Approve
strategy and workplan priorities
- Monitor
progress
The
Executive Board is made up of the Chairmen of the BuyIT Best Practice
Network Steering and Working Groups, as shown below. It supervises the
detail of programmes at quarterly meetings and with regular personal interaction
with IT World staff. Executive Board members are Vice-Chairmen of BuyIT.

The
Working Groups lead the work to set the agenda and disseminate the best
practice output.
The
Steering Groups are responsible for steering the work programmes; they
report directly to the BuyIT Best Practice Network Executive Board.

The
work of BuyIT is managed and implemented on behalf of the Executive Board
by IT World Limited, headed by:

- Provides
the BuyIT secretariat
- Manages
and implement the BuyIT programme of activities as agreed by the Board
- Markets
BuyIT, attract new members and programme sponsorship
- Manages
contracts associated with BuyIT programmes
- Holds
the copyright on published BuyIT materials
- Manages
the dissemination of BuyIT messages and material
